For local trades, cafés & shops

Every person who sees your listing owns their home.

Doorstep is the neighbourhood app for Australian homeowners. List your business in the suburbs you actually work in — and it's free while we're building your area.

Why it's different

You already pay for leads. Nobody tells you who owns the house.

Plenty of the enquiries you chase come from renters who need the landlord's okay before anyone can say yes. On Doorstep there's no one to filter out — every member owns their home or is buying one, and has told us the suburb they live in.

The usual way

  • Paying per enquiry, good or bad
  • Quoting before you know who owns the place
  • Showing up for people nowhere near you
  • Reviews from anyone, anywhere

On Doorstep

  • Free while we build your suburb
  • Every member owns or is buying their home
  • Only the suburbs you choose
  • Reviews only from real neighbours
How it works

A listing in your suburb. That's the whole thing.

1

You pick the suburbs

Tell us where you work. You appear there and nowhere else — we'd rather not sell you reach you can't drive to.

2

Neighbours rate you

Only members who live in or near your suburbs can leave a review, one each. Your rating is earned from them — it can't be bought.

3

There's nothing to manage

No account, no dashboard, no password to forget. We build the listing for you. Want something changed? Just email us.

Why join now

The businesses there on day one get the head start.

We're building each suburb before we open it to members — and we won't charge you to stand in an empty room. Join now and you're there from the first day, collecting reviews from neighbours before anyone else. On Doorstep, a steady stack of honest reviews is what moves you up the list.

Our rules

Four things we'll never do.

If you've been burned by an ad deal before, start here. We wrote these down before the first business joined — not after a bad one.

Message your customers for you

A business can't contact a member on Doorstep. Not a push, not a DM, not an email. People come to you.

Sell you a better rating

Your score comes from neighbours. Any paid spot on Doorstep is always, clearly marked Sponsored.

Pull a review because you don't like it

You can always reply to one — publicly, and free. An honest bad review stays, and so does your answer to it.

Pass your details on

We use them to build your listing and to talk to you about it. And we never hand member details to businesses either.

2Where you work

At least one, separated by commas. List as many as you like — we'll sort out with you which to start in.

3How we reach you

A real person reads every one — no auto-dialler, no sales script.
Only the fields marked * are required.

Thanks — that's with us.

We'll check the details, verify your ABN if you gave one, and email you at the address you left. If anything looks off, we'll ask rather than guess.

Questions

The things everyone asks.

More detail: listing by suburb and state · why homeowners · what "free" means · Doorstep vs hipages.

What does it cost?

Nothing while we're building your suburb, and you don't give us a card to join. When there's a real audience of homeowners there, we'll tell you what a listing costs before anything changes — and if you'd rather not, you don't pay and nothing happens.

Who actually sees my listing?

Doorstep members who live in or near the suburbs you serve. Doorstep is an app for homeowners, so every member owns their home or is buying one. You never appear in suburbs you didn't pick.

Do I need to download the app or make an account?

No. There's nothing to log in to. You tell us about your business here, we build the listing, and if you ever want something changed you just email us.

What if someone leaves a bad review?

Send us your reply and we'll post it right underneath — publicly, and free. Reviews only come from people who live near you, one each, and the list is ordered by a fair average that doesn't let a single review — good or bad — decide where you land.

Can I choose which suburbs I'm in?

Yes — that's the point. List every suburb you'd happily drive to and we'll work out with you where to start.

Is there anything you won't list?

A few categories, decided up front rather than after a bad one: adult services, gambling, payday lending, cosmetic surgery, weight loss, multi-level marketing and cryptocurrency. A person checks every listing before it goes up.
