Why it's different

You already pay for leads. Nobody tells you who owns the house.

Plenty of the enquiries a tradie chases come from renters who need the landlord's okay before anyone can say yes. On Doorstep there's no one to filter out: every member owns their home or is buying one, and has told us the suburb they live in. Why that matters, in numbers →

How it works

A listing in the suburbs you serve. That's the whole thing.

1

You pick the suburbs

Tell us where you work. You appear there and nowhere else.

2

Neighbours rate you

Only members who live in or near your suburbs can review you, one each. A rating can't be bought.

3

Nothing to manage

No account, no dashboard. We build the listing for you; want a change, email us.

By trade

Advertise by what you do

Plumbers

Hot-water systems, bathroom renovations and blocked drains are all decisions the owner makes, not the tenant.

Electricians

Rewiring, switchboards, solar and EV chargers are capital work.

Builders and renovators

Extensions, second storeys and full renovations are the biggest cheques a household ever writes, and every one is written by an owner.

Painters

Exterior repaints and full-interior jobs are owner decisions with owner budgets.

Roofers

Nobody rents a roof.

Landscapers and gardeners

Decks, paving, retaining walls and new gardens are permanent improvements — the kind of spend people only make on a place they own.

Cleaners

Regular home cleaning is a household habit, and it sticks longest with people who aren't moving next year.

Pest controllers

Termite inspections and annual treatments protect an asset — the owner's asset.

Cafes and restaurants

Locals are the regulars.

Hairdressers and beauty salons

A salon lives on repeat clients within a few kilometres.

Mechanics

Households that own their home tend to own their cars too, keep them longer, and want one workshop they trust nearby.

Accountants and bookkeepers

Homeowners have the tax questions worth paying for — investment properties, capital gains, home-office deductions.

Our rules

Four things we'll never do

Message your customers for you. Sell you a better rating. Pull a review because you don't like it. Pass your details on. These were written down before the first business joined — not after a bad one.

Questions

The things everyone asks

What is Doorstep?

A neighbourhood app for Australian homeowners. Members own their home or are buying one and tell us the suburb they live in. Local businesses can be listed to those members in the suburbs they serve.

What does a listing cost?

Nothing while we're building your suburb, and you don't give us a card to join. When there's a real audience of homeowners there we'll tell you what a listing costs before anything changes — and if you'd rather not, you don't pay.

Do I need the app?

No. There's nothing to log in to. Fill in the form, we build the listing, and if you ever want something changed you email us.

How is this different from hipages or a Google listing?

Those reach everyone, including the renter who has to ask the landlord first. Doorstep only has homeowners — and reviews come only from people who live near you, one each. See our comparison with hipages.

Takes two minutes. No card, no contract, nothing to log in to.
